Cookie Notice

Last updated October 14, 2026

This notice explains the cookies and similar browser storage that ADU Home List uses.

We set essential cookies only. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or tag managers, and we do not build advertising profiles or sell information about your browsing.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. Cookies are what allow a site to recognize that a sequence of page requests comes from the same browser — which is how staying signed in works.

A first-party cookie is set by the site you are visiting. A third-party cookie is set by another service whose content is embedded in the page. A session cookie is discarded when you close your browser; a persistent cookie stays until it expires or you delete it.

2. Cookies we set

CookiePurposeType
Session cookie
(a PHP session identifier, with a site-specific prefix)
Strictly necessary. Keeps you signed in as you move between pages and protects form submissions. Without it you cannot log in or use your account, messaging, or checkout.First-party, session
lastUrl
(with the same site-specific prefix)
Strictly necessary. Remembers the page you were on so you are returned there after signing in or signing up.First-party, session
ah_vidFunctional. A random identifier used so one visitor is not counted repeatedly in a video's view total. It is not linked to your account or used to profile you.First-party, persistent

Our session cookies are set as HttpOnly, so page scripts cannot read them, and as Secure when the site is served over HTTPS.

3. Browser storage we use

Alongside cookies we keep a few interface preferences in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us as part of each request:

KeyPurpose
user_zipRemembers the ZIP code you last searched so you do not have to re-enter it.
ah-map-visibleRemembers whether you had the map view open or closed on directory pages.
ah_vping_…Prevents a video view from being counted more than once in a short period.

You can clear this at any time by clearing site data for ADU Home List in your browser.

4. Third-party cookies

We do not place third-party advertising or analytics cookies. However, some parts of the site load content from other services, and those services may set their own cookies under their own policies:

  • Stripe — when you reach checkout or a payment form, for payment processing and fraud prevention.
  • Google — if you choose “Sign in with Google”, as part of authenticating you with your Google account.
  • YouTube and Vimeo — when a page contains an embedded video player.

We also load webfonts from Google Fonts. That request discloses your IP address and browser information to Google but does not set a cookie on our site.

If you follow a link to a business's own website, that site's cookies are governed by its policies, not ours.

6. Managing cookies

Every major browser lets you see, block, and delete cookies, usually under its privacy or site-data settings. You can also browse in a private or incognito window, which discards cookies when you close it.

Blocking our session cookie will prevent you from signing in, and will break your account pages, messaging, and checkout. Blocking third-party cookies may prevent Google sign-in, Stripe checkout, or embedded videos from working.

Browsers also offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because we do not track visitors across sites, there is no cross-site tracking for it to disable.

7. Changes to this notice

We will update this notice if the cookies or browser storage we use change, and revise the “Last updated” date above.
